Iluminated Crochet Rug

We absolutely love this rug, made with a string light and basic knitting or crochet techniques, simple, yet novel DIY project.

We love light and so we think this is a great idea for a rug. It'a also useful for little kids who are afraid of the dark, with this rug they will fell safe and secure. A rug with a calming light that does not disturb their sleep.

If you don’t have childrens the rug is perfect as a night light in the bathroom or in a dark hallway to welcome your friends.

Chose a quality light rope for outside use! The yarn is made from offcuts of new collection fabric industry and the crochet hook is 12 mm. The rug have 70 cm diameter.

The entire rug is made with single crochet. Make a circle of 4 sc and crochet 8 sc around it. Only increase stitches on the rows crocheted around the rope. The last lap had 120 stitches.

When the whole rope was covered, finish the rug off with a nice border. This looks like a flower.
Row 1: * 1 sc, ch 5 skip 3 sts * and finish with 1 sl.
Row 2: 5 sc in each ch-loop
Row 3: Sl st to top of first arch. * 5 ch, 1 sl st in 3 sc in next loop *
Row 4: 1 sc, 4 dc, 1 sc in each ch-loop
